Quote identity
Tie the amount to one exact product
Start each quote line with the public source URL, product code, selected color or specification, size mix and requested quantity. If a quote covers several items, split it into separate lines so a later change does not rewrite the whole comparison.
Minimum usable line

False bargains
A lower number may describe a different offer
| Difference | Why the price can change |
|---|---|
| Quantity tier | A 500-unit amount is not comparable with a 30-unit test order. |
| Specification | Material, dimensions, finish, accessories or electronics version may differ. |
| Packaging | Bulk packing and individual retail boxes create different costs and weights. |
| Price unit | A set, pair, piece and carton cannot share one unit column. |
| Delivery basis | Ex-factory, domestic delivery and international delivery include different responsibilities. |
Responsibility
Separate a displayed label from a confirmed seller quote
A price printed in an album caption or catalog card may be old, abbreviated or intended for a different quantity. Record it as “displayed on page,” not as a current offer from a named responsible party.
When a contact confirms a quote, record who responded, through which authorized route and on what date. This improves traceability; it does not verify identity or guarantee that terms will be honored.
Price context
A visible number still needs a complete basis
Check album captions and associated source pages, then attach every amount to the exact product, variant, quantity, unit, currency and date. A number copied from an album may be old, seller-specific or unrelated to the quantity you intend to compare.
A page that displays prices is convenient, but visibility does not establish that an amount is current, complete or connected to a protected transaction. Preserve missing fees and assumptions instead of describing the first visible number as the final cost.
Decision-ready
A quote should answer the next comparison
A useful quote lets you compare the intended order without filling blanks yourself. If the unit, quantity, variant, currency or inclusions are missing after one clear follow-up, mark the offer incomplete rather than ranking it by the displayed number.
Quotation and order remain separate records
Stock, inspection, payment, shipping, duties, delivery and dispute handling remain separate steps governed by the relevant parties and services.
